Youth Hostel Kolkata wants to promote Youth Hostelling for Peace and International Understanding. It’s neither a Hotel nor a mess.
Check in time is 12:00 noon and check out time is 11:00.
The charges are for a day consisting of 23 hours and part of a day will be considered as a full day.
All charges are to be paid fully in advance.
For security reasons photo identity and other documents are required for your identification to our complete satisfaction.
The management reserves the right to verify information submitted for reservation.
The management reserves the right of admission or to allot or to make changes in allotment of accommodation, as circumstance would demand. Preference will be given to the members of YHA.
Maximum two adults are allowed in one room. Only married couples, close relatives or colleagues of the same gender may share a room.
No additional member other than those registered will be allowed in the room. Visitors are allowed only at the waiting room and only during the visiting hours. Occupants of the room kindly inform to the management regarding their departure one hour in advance.
Boarders are strictly prohibited from bringing or using liquor, drugs or any other illegal materials.
Please do not use any lock of your own and leave the room key on the keyboard before leaving the hostel. We try to provide a high level of security, but we are not responsible for valuables in your room. Cupboard key is available on request against Security Deposit.
The management does not take any responsibility for cash or any other articles given to any employee of the hostel.
Rooms and hostel’s common spaces must be kept neat and clean.
Boarders are requested to use the garbage box provided in the room instead of throwing out anything from the window or on the floor.
Please use the rods outside your room or terrace for drying your wet clothes. Wet clothes are not to be dried inside the bedroom.
Please do not keep any luggage on the bed or on the table.
Boarders must maintain silence and should not cause disturbance to the inmates of the neighboring rooms and the management.
Boarders are not allowed to move any furniture or fixtures from its existing place without permission. Extra charges are applicable for using any electrical gadgets other than lights and fans provided by the hostel. Prior permission should be asked from the Warden for the above.
Please don’t waste resources like water and electricity. Use fresh water judiciously. Switch off fan and lights even when you leave the room.
The management has absolute right to open the room for cleaning and checking.
Any breakage or loss by the boarder is to be paid by the boarder

No room service available. All items are to be served only in the GREEN ROOM.
Lunch
: 12:00 a.m. – 01:00 p.m.
Dinner
: 08:30 p.m. – 09:30 p.m.
Outside foods are not allowed in the hostel premises.
We regret our inability to serve any food or drinks before 07:00 a.m. after 09:30 p.m., before check in and after check out.
Cloak room charges: Rs. 10 per bag /day or part of the day.
Entry and exit restricted during the closing hours.
GREEN ROOM & MAIN GATE REMAINS CLOSED BETWEEN 10:00 P.M. & 6:00 A.M.
Each boarder will be deemed to have read and agreed the above rules & regulations.Violation of any rules will cause cash penalty which is minimum Rs. 100/- for each violation.
